Group VI taps Pace as CEO Group VI Corporation has announced that James I. Pace Jr. has been named chief executive officer. Pace was one of the founders of Group VI in 1988 and is one of its principle owners. He will retain his current title of president. As president, Pace is responsible for management of marketing, sales and all operational aspects of the company. In his new position, he will act as general managing partner of the Group VI Corporation and related partnerships. Pace will be responsible for all general administration and financial activities and will have overall management responsibility. Ron Williamson, chairman, saidd, "Under Jim's leadership the past 13 years we have increased sales over 40 times and our number of employees has grown from five to over 80. I congratulate Jim on his new position and his hard work in making Group VI one of the top construction companies in the Southeast." Pace has more than 29 years of management, marketing and general business experience. Prior to co-founding Group VI in 1988, he managed operating units of both Cooper Industries and Westinghouse Electric Corporation. His experience includes management positions in accounting, financial planning, operations, customer service, sales and marketing. Pace's entire business career has centered around construction-related products and services and he has worked with clients, architects, engineers and major developers nationwide. A native of Vicksburg, Miss., Pace earned his bachelor of science in business administration from Mississippi College in Clinton. He is currently vice president, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; former city councilman in Peachtree City; member, Georgia Economic Developers Association, and former vice chairman, Fayette County Board of Health. Pace and his wife, Mary, live in Peachtree City. They have three children and a granddaughter.
