The Atlanta Boat Show has been educating and entertaining audiences for 40 years.

The premiere nautical event returns to the Georgia World Congress center with one of its best lineups ever. Not only will boat owners and prospective boat owners get to look at new boats and boating materials, but there will be dozens of seminars, appearances, performances and more.

All of the major nautical dealers and manufacturers will be represented in almost 500,000 square feet of display area. There will be tons of bargains available as well as special deals like pre-paid dockage allowances, free electronic packages, direct rebates and no down payments.

The Atlanta Boat Show is not just about buying boats or boat-related materials, it is also a place to see some amazing acts, like the "Sensational Sea Lions Show" featuring some funny sea lions and "The South's Most Haunted Seaports" where there will be ghost stories presented by WISH Tours of Charleston, S.C.

Visitors will get to meet professional anglers throughout the weekend as they demonstrate their winning techniques, as well as water skiing and wakeboard champions Jan. 5 beginning at 4:30 p.m. Phil Niekro will also be on hand Jan. 5 from 1-3 p.m. to sign autographs. Skipper the dolphin, a favorite attraction of the boat show, will also be present during the week.

The 40th annual Atlanta Boat Show will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Sunday's Boat Show times will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission is $8 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Admission will also be free to all uniformed personnel from the military, police and fire departments, including EMTs.
