Patriots sweep meet in preparation for S. Metro
Sandy Creek won all three matches on Tuesday night, defeating Westlake 48-24, Landmark 37-21 and Jonesboro 42-37. Winning all three matches Joey Singleton (130), Nick Dorsey (160), and Brandon McDowell (171). All three wrestlers now have a 9-2 record this season. Adam Byrd (189) went 3-0. Going 2-1 on the night were Zach Campbell (103), Chris Denney (119), Blake Morgan (135) and Mike Sitton (140). Denney is 8-3 on the season, Campbell is 6-4 and Morgan and Siiton are 2-4. Sandy Creek will head to Spaulding County High School in Griffin today and tomorrow for the South metro Wrestling Invitational. The meet will give all of the local teams a good indication of how their region will shape up and which wrestlers and teams have a good shot at a state title. East Coweta, Fayette County, McIntosh and Starr's Mill will all participate in the tournament, as will two of the top contenders this year, Eagle's Landing in AAAAA and Woodward Academy in AAAA.
