It's holiday time in College Park By JOHN
THOMPSON
Although the weather will be warm this weekend, it will still feel a lot like Christmas in College Park. Residents will start gathering early Saturday morning along the historic city's Main Street for the 26th annual Christmas parade. Colleg Park Recreation Department program coordinator Arthur Washington said there are more than 45 entries in this year's parade. "We'll have bands, floats and organizations like the Girl Scouts marching Saturday," he said. The parade kicks off at the intersection of Main Street and Vesta. Saturday is the start of a big holiday week in College Park. Tuesday, the Recreation Department sponsors "Santa's Calling." After school, 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds will get a personal call from the jolly elf, who will ask how the children are doing in school and what they want for Christmas. The week culminates Friday with the judging of the best-decorated holiday home in the city. Residents have been busy decorating their homes and will find out who has done the best job Friday night.
