'Hanging of the Greens' is Dec. 1 at Christ Our Hope

Members of Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church will decorate the sanctuary and trim their tree on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1:30 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to wear work clothes. Supper will be served at 5 p.m. followed by the official lighting of the tree and carol singing in the sanctuary. Christ Our Hope is at 2165 Ga. Inman schedules 'Greening of the Church'

Fayetteville Knights of Columbus honored

The Knights of Columbus Council #11458 of Fayetteville was recently awarded the Star Council Award, for exemplary community service. The award is presented to only a few charitable councils each year. Fayetteville Grand Knight, Jack Krakeel, accepted the award for the Fayetteville Council.

Peachtree City First Presbyterian offers singles ministry

Singles age 35 years and up are invited to attend singles ministry meetings at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning at First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City. Activities include Bible study and an occasional fellowship event. The class is currently studying "The Secrets of the Vine," the sequel to "The Prayer of Jabez." Nativity schedules special Christmas events

The Episcopal Church of the Nativity will offer a service of Holy Eucharist on each of the four weekends of Advent, beginning Saturday, Dec. 1. The service begins at 5:30 p.m. Incense will be used during the services. A special adult education session entitled "Welcoming the New Liturgical Year" will take place Saturday Dec. 1, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The class will address the seasons of Advent/Christmas/Epiphany and some of the traditions of Anglican worship. The church is at 130 Antioch Road. New Hope Baptist will have Christmas banquet Dec. 1

Members of New Hope Baptist Church will have their Adult Christmas Banquet Saturday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m., in the Rainbow Room of the North Campus. Entertainment will be provided by Dennis Swanberg. Tickets are $20 per person and include the meal and entertainment. No childcare will be provided on Saturday, but special events are planned for children on Sunday, including a preschool party (no charge) and a children's party ($5 per ticket). Covenant children to present musical Dec. 2

The children's ministry at Covenant Presbyterian Church will present a musical entitled, "The Plane Truth About Christmas," Sunday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. The performance emphasizes missions and evangelism. Those age 55 and older (or in full-time retirement) are invited to join the Third Thursday group at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church for the Christmas luncheon, Thursday, Dec. 6, at noon, at Baci Restaurant in Fayetteville. Ladies at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church will have their annual Christmas Dinner Buffet Thursday, Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hollingsworth House. Cost is $5 per person. McDonough Road ladies plan Cookie Swap Dec. 1
