Comments sought on Fville police services for accreditation process By CAROLYN CARY
David Tiffany, 16, decided to spruce up the American Legion Post House in Fayetteville to earn his Eagle Scout Award. With the help of as many as 15 other Boy Scouts from Troop 276 in Peachtree City, landscaping took place by planting hedges all around the building, and a flag pole was erected out front. The American Legion building was a W.P.A. project in 1936 and is the only project of its kind in Fayette County. John Dufresne serves as commander of Post 105 and said that electrical, heating and air, and plumbing upgrades are underway in the building. "We were glad to have David take care of the landscaping and erecting the flag pole," said Dufresne. "We were happy to purchase the shrubbery, the city of Fayetteville provided the trees and dug the holes, Andy's Nursery planted the trees and Walker Concrete poured the base for the flag pole. We are very grateful to everyone who helped in the project." Both of David's grandfathers served in World War II. Dufresne is an Army veteran who served in Vietnam. Jerry Stoner, a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II, is the project manager for the post and was in charge of overseeing the Scout project.
