Edgefield Baptist announces Thanksgiving service

Edgefield Baptist Church will have a special Thanksgiving service Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. Edgefield is at 140 Church St., between Ga. Hwy. 54 and Georgia Ave. in Fayetteville. The pastor is Eddie Thomas. The church is multicultural and all in the community are invited to attend.

McDonough Road plans holiday events

Members of McDonough Road Baptist Church will decorate their sanctuary for the holidays with the "Hanging of the Greens" on Sunday, Nov. 25. For more information call the church office, 770-460-5423.

Fayetteville UMC plans musical events for December

Christmas musical events for December at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church include the Newnan Brass Quartet on Wednesday, Dec. 5; the Children's Christmas Musical on Wednesday, Dec. 12; the Whitewater String Orchestra on Thursday, Dec. 13; Vivaldi's "Gloria" presented by the Chancel Choir on Sunday, Dec. 16, and a staff concert featuring Sonia Squires on violin and Rick Massengale on piano on Sunday, Dec. 23. Chanukah Bazaar set for Dec. 11 at Barnes & Noble

A Chanukah Bazaar benefiting Congregation B'nai Israel in Fayetteville, will be held at Barnes & Noble in Fayetteville on Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 6-8 p.m.

Third Thursday group will have Christmas luncheon

Those age 55 and older (or in full-time retirement) are invited to join the Third Thursday group at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church for the Christmas luncheon, Thursday, Dec. 6, at noon, at Baci Restaurant in Fayetteville. 'Hanging of the Greens' is Dec. 1 at Christ Our Hope

Members of Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church will decorate the sanctuary and trim their tree on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1:30 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to wear work clothes. Supper will be served at 5 p.m. followed by the official lighting of the tree and carol singing in the sanctuary. Christ Our Hope is at 2165 Ga. Fayetteville First Baptist ladies plan Christmas dinner

Ladies at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church will have their annual Christmas Dinner Buffet Thursday, Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hollingsworth House. Cost is $5 per person. McDonough Road ladies plan Cookie Swap Dec. 1

The ladies ministry at McDonough Rd. Baptist Church will have a Holiday Cookie Swap Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Those attending are asked to bring three or four dozen cookies and an empty cookie tin. Sign up at the church or call the office, 770-460-5423.

Lutheran men's group meetings suspended

The men's group at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in Riverdale will suspend meetings during November and December. The next meeting will be Jan. 26, 2002.

McFolks plan trip to Williamsburg

Senior adults who are members of the McFolks group at McDonough Road Baptist Church are invited to take a sightseeing trip to Williamsburg, Va., Monday, Dec. 3, returning Thursday, Dec. 6. A deposit of $100 is required at sign up. The trip is open to seniors who are members of McDonough Road, as well as seniors who are non-members. Covenant children to present musical Dec. 2

The children's ministry at Covenant Presbyterian Church will present a musical entitled, "The Plane Truth About Christmas," Sunday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. The performance emphasizes missions and evangelism. Grief support meetings held each month at SWCH
