Fritz: Despite 'attacks, I bother because I care'

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my campaign staff and supporters for all their help during this campaign. It has been my great fortune to once again meet many new people and make many new friends during this time. For that I am blessed. To know that my supporters come from such a diverse group of people is overwhelming. To know I have made a difference is humbling. To know people can see through the political rhetoric being thrown about means there is hope.

John F. Kennedy once said, "The only unchangeable certainty is that nothing is certain or unchangeable." Those who have lived here for 10, 20 and 30 years have seen radical changes take place when everyone suddenly discovered Peachtree City. In case you missed it, Sallie Satterthwaite had a great article in last Wednesday's paper. For those not familiar with the history of Peachtree City, it seems it was a real eye-opener for some. If you missed it, read it.

I especially want to thank my husband, Gene, for putting up with all the politics. He is my rock, and the love of my life. Without hesitation or question, he would be the happiest man in Fayette County if I were not re-elected.

In spite of his feelings, he has been my biggest supporter. He has suffered through the nasty e-mail and the attacks on me in the paper. I know it has hurt and frustrated him much more than it has me. He knows I do all this for the right reasons, but still questions why I bother.

I bother because I care. I bother because I believe in Peachtree City. I bother because I plan on living here a very, very long time.

On Nov. 27, please go back out and vote. Vote knowing the facts. Vote with knowledge. Vote for Carol Fritz.
