Why, Mr. Beverly, do you hate Rower so much? In reference to your editorial of Nov. 14, I do not know why you hate Gary Rower so much that you would elect to completely distort Mr. Rower's position on the issues. I'm a resident of Planterra Ridge and I went to the candidate's forum at the Gathering Place. Hence, I have an unbiased, firsthand view of what was asked and what the candidates have actually said. Unfortunately, most of our citizens have to sort through the paper you control to make up their minds. First of all, I do not see how or why the mayor alone could pass "defeated projects through the back door." I imagine he could do this when the city council is asleep or away on some retreat to Aruba. Why would he want to do that if he could anyway? Please enlighten us, Mr. Beverly. Why even have bond referendums in the first place? The fact he has not chosen to answer your question demonstrates the stupidity of the question. On the other hand, perhaps you have some proof that Mr. Rower will benefit personally from all of these projects and he can't wait to get kickbacks from all those construction companies and contractors. Mr. Rower could use a new truck. To say Mr. Rower doesn't like the "notion of voters getting to decide on how to spend their tax dollars" is an absolute lie that defies common sense and is an alarmist, deliberate attempt to paint him as some sort of Talibanish dictator. What he did say was that a public referendum for or against annexation is against Georgia law. He also said that annexation in and of itself is not a bad thing. If a property owner elects to ask a city to be annexed, then the city has some input into the zoning of that property. The logical thing is to look at the proposal and have some input into the results. If the proposal is not satisfactory then annexation is turned down. The stupid thing would be to turn down annexation just because. By the way, Mr. Brown is against annexation just because. I'm sure the fact that Wynnmeade sponsored this forum for Planterra and Wynnmeade residents had nothing to do with that view. Finally, if you are going to accuse Mr. Rower of being in favor of developers, why don't you come out and say it? Don't be a coward. Why don't you just come out and say Gary Rower is in the back pocket of greedy developers? Indeed, just come out and say the man is in favor of increased traffic, pollution, crime, taking away social security benefits from seniors, crowded schools, toxic waste, higher taxes, budget deficits, back-door deals, and just corruption in general. If you do that, I'm sure that there are many voters who would believe you and vote for Mr. Brown instead. After all, that would be consistent with Mr. Brown's, alarmist, "hand grenade" campaign. That is what you want, isn't it? Manny Guerrero Peachtree City
