Luminary sale underway

The annual luminary sale to benefit the JC Booth Middle School Band is underway. band students are selling the luminary kits for $4. Each kit contains six bags. six candles and sand. Proceeds from the sale are used for instruments, music and other program expenses.

Traditional luminary lightings are on Christmas Eve, with many area neighborhoods participating. Bags, weighted with sand, and holding a lit candle, are placed along street curbs, walkways and driveways at about eight foot intervals. The effect of glowing lights is spectacular.

The sale ends Wednesday, Nov. 14. Kits are paid for at the time of purchase and will be delivered after Dec. 1. If you would like a band student to call on you, phone Linda Brudrett at 770-486-1074 or e-mal a request to brundrett@mindspring.com.
