Overton to be honored Saturday at FFBC

The Rev. Jack Overton will be honored by members of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church this Saturday, in celebration of 40 years with the Fayetteville church. Overton came to First Baptist in 1961. Festivities will start at noon on the front lawn of the church and will include barbecue, Christian music and fellowship. The event will conclude at 3 p.m.

Fayetteville Christian plans retreat this weekend

Members of Fayetteville Christian Church will have a fall family retreat Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10, at Woodland Christian Camp. Activities will include indoor and outdoor games, family worship, a campfire in the evening and fun and fellowship for everyone. 'Romancing Your Husband' topic of ladies meeting

Ann Smith will speak to the ladies of the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City at their meeting Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 9:30 a.m.in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The topic will be on fulfilling romantic needs. There is no charge to attend and childcare is free with reservations made by Sunday, Nov. 11. Amateur talent show on tap at FUMC Nov. 14

Members of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will present their Fall Amateur Talent Show, Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center of the church. Each act is limited to five minutes and must be preregistered. All those performing must provide their own sound system and/or operator. National Heights plans Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 14

Members of National Heights Baptist Church will have their Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $3.50 for adults and $1.50 for children 10 and under. Reservations should be made through the church office, 770-461-1704 or 770-461-3899.

Lutheran men's group meetings suspended

The men's group at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in Riverdale will suspend meetings during November and December. The next meeting will be Jan. 26, 2002.

Covenant Presbyterian celebrates 25 years

Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville will celebrate 25 years of service to the community Sunday, Nov. 18. with commemorative morning worship and evening Thanksgiving services. Sybil Hill honored by members of Fayette Presbyterian

Sybil Hill, a member of the Fayette Presbyterian Church, was recognized recently as an Outstanding Senior for her service to the church. Hill received the honor during the Greater Atlanta Presbytery Conference held at Camp Calvin in Hampton. The award was presented by the Senior Fall Fling Committee and Associate Presbyter Forrest Palmer.

McFolks schedule Thanksgiving luncheon

McFolks, the senior adults group at McDonough Rd. Baptist Church, will have a Thanksgiving luncheon Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 11:30 a.m. There is no charge and all food will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to sign up at the church. For more information, call the church, 770-460-5423.
