Gate crasher at Holyfield's worried about anthrax scare

A man whose car crashed through the gates of Evander Holyfield's property in North Fayette County last week was likely fretting over his possible exposure to anthrax.

Michael Derrick Coleman, 39, is a postal worker stationed at Hartsfield International Airport and claimed his skin was burning, according to Maj. Bruce Jordan of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. Found inside his vehicle was a pamphlet outlining the symptoms of anthrax, with several symptoms underlined, Jordan said.

Coleman was charged with criminal damage to property for the Oct. 24 incident. The fence and a bridge were damaged in the wreck, according to Lt. Mahlon Donald of the sheriff's department.

Coleman's vehicle couldn't have run off the road and caused such damage, making it likely he approached the fence head-on, authorities say.

Holyfield himself asked officers to file charges against Coleman, Jordan said.
