New owner takes over at Fayette Import

After 17 years of managing Goodyear Tire Centers in Jonesboro, Stockbridge and McDonough, Doug Horgen has become a part of the Fayette County business community with the purchase of Fayette Import, a well-established automotive repair center loated just north of Fayetteville.

Fayette Import has been servicing European automobiles since 1982.

Under Horgen's leadership, the repair shop will service all foreign and domestic automobiles and light trucks.

"Fayette Import had already been recognized as being the largest Bosch-certified repair facility in Georgia with 21 bays, a 5,000-sq. ft. parts department and an auto detailing facility," Horgen noted in a letter to customers recently.

"To ensure that we may provide you with all of your service and tire needs, I have recently installed some of the latest diagnostic and tire service equipment available," he added.

"Of course, the best equipment alone doesn't guarantee the highest quality repairs," Horgen said. "For that, I need experienced and specially trained technicians and service personnel."

The new owner said he was fortunate to retain both Gina Garneau, the service advisor, and Ian Connally, the service director, as well as all of the Bosch-certified technicians and parts personnel.

"These employees, having worked at Fayette Import for many years, have elected to stay and support me in this new business and to continue serving their own loyal and trusting customers," he said.

Horgen is bringing experienced Goodyear specialists Chuck Long, service manager, and Clyde Hopper, lead technician, with him to his new venture.

"Chuck and Clyde have been with me for many years and will remain a great asset to myself as well as my customers for many more," Horgen said.

Horgen invites customers in the area to stop by and receive a tour of his new business.

"I would love to continue to be the person you trust for your vehicle tire and service needs," Horgen said.
