Six Flags hosts final weekend of Fright Fest

Six Flags over Georgia can be a scary place with its myriad of rollercoasters and thrill rides, including the new rides, Acrophobia and Deja Vu.

It is even scarier now that it is the scene of Fright Fest, which enters its final weekend this weekend.

Fright Fest features characters in Halloween costumes and trick-or-treating throughout the park, live shows, two new haunted houses and all of the attractions that make Six Flags one of the top amusement parks in the country.

This year's Fright Fest promises two new haunted houses, Fearman's Manor and The Carnival of Chaos. Fearman's Manor features 16 rooms of the dead and undead and the Carnival of Chaos is a black light extravaganza featuring spooky clowns and freaks.

Admission to the haunted houses is separate from general park admission. Admission to Fearman's Manor is $8 and admission to the carnival of Chaos is $6. Admission to both haunted houses is $13.

An attraction aimed at younger children is the train ride through Spooky Town on the Boo Line Express. The wilderness is haunted and inhabited by friendly creatures. There is also the Monster Plantation ride, which is a leisurely boat ride through a monster picnic.

Fright Fest is open Fridays from 6-11 p.m., with the haunted houses open until midnight, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. Admission to the park is $41 and $20.50 for children under 48 inches.

Perhaps the scariest thing about Fright Fest is that the end of another Six Flags season is upon us and the park will be closed for months.
