Fulton commissioner joins national panel

Fulton County District 2 Commissioner Karen Elaine Webster participated as a panelist at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia last Saturday.

The event was the 16th annual Howard E. Mitchell Memorial Forum and is sponsored by the Black Wharton Undergraduate Association. The group is a division of the Wharton Business School, which is one of the top business schools in the country.

The forum's topic was "Breaking the Mold: Redefining the Scope of Black Potential." The panel will focus on government and public planning industries.

A native Atlantan, Webster is senior vice president at Beers Construction Company, the largest commercial contractor in the southeast. She holds a bachelor's degree in Southern history and government from the University of Virginia and a master's degree in public administration from Georgia State University.
