Random notes and news from Fayette's food land....

I'm hearing good things about Chin-Chin on Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City. The restaurant is part of an Atlanta chain and has won several readers' choice awards from other publications in recent years.

My food spies tell me that it's truly authentic Chinese cuisine and the chef does wonders with different types of sauces.

·One of the classiest additions to Fayette's dining scene in the past few years has to be Martini's in the Westpark Walk shopping center in Peachtree City. With Frank Sinatra playing on the cd player and low lighting, the restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy any of its appetizers. The escargot and calamari are top-notch.

·Chalk up another option for wings in the county. Hotlanta Wings opened this month in the old Buffalo's location, just off Ga. Highway 85 in Fayetteville.

The restaurant offers the usual mild, medium and spicy wings, but also features lemon pepper and terriyaki wings.

·If you're feeling like good, hearty food this month, head to City Cafe in Fayetteville. The restaurant is celebrating Oktoberfest with several German specialty items during the entire month.

·Recent news accounts indicate that a high-profile chef is looking to locate a restaurant on the square in Fayetteville. This would be a wonderful addition to the community and offer foodies one more reason not to burn up the pavement heading to Atlanta for a classy meal.

· If you haven't been in a while, I would suggest heading back to the Olde Mill Steakhouse, between Fayetteville and Peachtree City.

The restaurant offers one of the prettiest locations for dining in the county and its new Cajun Wednesdays is "burning up" the charts.
