"I guarantee you will fall in love with them," said Father Jimmy Adams, pastor and one of the founders of Amigos for Christ. "We are blessed that the choir is able to give us an entire weekend of their time. I know you will be generous and appreciative of their efforts," The choir is on a tour of the South and will make stops in New Orleans and Mobile prior to the visit in Fayetteville. The group is led by Fr. Marco Dessy who was one of the founders of the group and who leads tours to help raise funds for Chinandega projects. Amigos for Christ was started in 1999 by the youth group at Prince of Peace in Buford and has grown to be recognized by the federal government as a nonprofit charity. All contributions are tax-deductible. Since its founding, Amigos for Christ has built schools, health clinics, housing, businesses and churches in an area known since 1971 for several natural disasters and a civil war. There will be a reception following the Starr's Mill performance Sunday evening. Information will be distributed on how to assist the group.
