We do, too, have causes I couldn't help responding to Monroe Roark's column about our generation (I'm 34, too) finding "a cause." I don't know about Mr. Roark, but my stomach has always churned whenever I've heard anyone refer to "Generation X." It's been implied that my generation has no purpose and no direction and that we don't stand for anything. Malarkey. Mr. Roark, it didn't take this national tragedy for us to find "a cause." I assure you that many of us already have causes. Some of the causes in which myself and many of my friends are active include the following: The Humane Society, political campaigns, environmental activism, feeding and clothing the poor, prison ministries.... The list goes on and on. There are those in every generation who become obsessed with making money and gaining position, but to imply that we are some sort of lost generation is to ignore the facts.
