Rapson has history of service to kids, public I don't usually write letters to newspapers, [but] I felt lead to write and give some information on one of the candidates running for Peachtree City Council Post 3, Steve Rapson. I've known Steve Rapson for many years. We first met when our sons began playing muppet soccer; they are now freshmen at McIntosh High School. Over the years I have known Steve Rapson to give his time and energy to helping the community. When the soccer team needed a coach Steve Rapson jumped in and volunteered; he sometimes even volunteered me as an assistant coach. When we needed a place for a Bible study at church, he and his wife, Kristi, opened their home. They have kept it open for the past four years. Our boys are now Boy Scouts, and once again he continues to volunteer on campouts and hikes. When the city needed a person to fill an unexpired term for Council Post 3, Steve Rapson took the time to apply for the position and now that the term has expired Steve Rapson is running for Peachtree City Council Post 3. Let me tell you what some of his qualifications are as I see them. Steve Rapson was the chief financial officer for Peachtree City for several years and left the city on very good terms. [He] was the director of purchasing for the Fayette County Board of Education. [He] is now the budget director for Fulton County. Steve Rapson has taken stands on issues that he felt are in the best interest of the citizens of Peachtree City. Steve Rapson is always prepared with the information on the issues. I have seen him take the time out of his family life and schedule to check on variances that are coming up for vote. Yes, he actually rides to the sites to check them out. Steve Rapson has told me that he wants this city to be the best it can be and that is why he takes the time to check these things out. Steve Rapson has the knowledge and integrity to do what is right for Peachtree City. As a resident of Peachtree City since 1980, I know Steve Rapson is the person I am voting for. I suggest if you are not sure who to vote for, give Steve Rapson a call; I know he would be glad to talk to you. His telephone number is 770-631-4447. If you would like to ask me any questions, give me a call at 770-487-5998 or e-mail me at rromeo1@msn.com. Robert R. Romeo, Sr. Peachtree City
