Providence youth plan banquet, silent auction

Young Life of Fayette County is having a banquet dinner and silent auction Saturday, Oct. 6, from 6-9 p.m., at Providence United Methodist Church. Dr. John DeCotis, Fayette County School Superintendent, will be guest speaker. The banquet is free but reservations are required. Inman UMC schedules Fall Festival Oct. 27

Inman United Methodist Church will have its Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 27, from 5-8 p.m. at the Minter Farm. Those attending are asked to wear their favorite costume. Hot dogs, hamburgers, games and prizes will be offered. For more information or directions, call the church at 770-461-2123.

First Presbyterian offers Lil' Varsity Drive In Sunday

Senior High Youth at the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City will host an evening of 1950s nostalgia with their annual Lil' Varsity Drive In fund-raiser Sunday, Oct. 7 from 4-7 p.m in the lower parking lot of the church. Classic cars will be displayed and hot dogs, hamburgers, coke floats, popcorn, brownies and chips will be for sale. "Curb service" will be offered. First Presbyterian is at 206 Willowbend Rd. in Peachtree City.

Fayetteville UMC plans blood drive Oct. 7

Harp's Crossing plans fall festival Oct. 31

Harp's Harvest, a fall festival, will be held at Harp's Crossing Baptist Church Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m. Events will include an antique tractor and car show, rockwall climbing, dramas and games. Seniors at Fayetteville Christian plan breakfast, trip

The SAM's group (senior adults) at Fayetteville Christian Church has two events planned for October. On Monday, Oct. 15, the group will meet at IHOP in Fayetteville at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast (Dutch treat) and fellowship. There were 47 seniors at last month's breakfast. The next day, Tuesday, Oct. 16, the group will travel to Hiawassee, Ga. for lunch at Daniel's Steak House, then travel on to Blue Ridge for fresh apples. Pro-lifers plan demonstration in Newnan

Pro-life supporters will stage a demonstration they call "Life Chain Coweta" along Bullsboro Dr. in Newnan Sunday, Oct. 7, from 2-3 p.m. Those wishing to participate may pick up signs at the Big K parking lot beginning at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call 770-599-6066.

Fayetteville UMC youth will sell pumpkins

The youth at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will sell pumpkins for three weeks during October on the church grounds. All funds raised will go toward youth retreats for the year 2001-2002. Pumpkins will be sold each day from 10:a.m. until dark.

McFolks plan costume party Oct. 30

The McFolks senior group at McDonough Rd. Baptist Church will have a costume party and covered dish fall luncheon Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Fayetteville 1st UMC offers class on Prayer of Jabez

During the month of October, the Lighthouse Sunday school class at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will offer a class on the Prayer of Jabez, the Bruce Wilkinson Book which has sold over three million copies. The class will meet during the regular Sunday school hour beginning at 9:50 a.m. in room C250 in the new education wing. Members and visitors are welcome. Lisbon Baptist schedules Celebration Festival

Lisbon Baptist Church will have its Celebration Festival 2001 Saturday, Oct. 27 from noon until 3 p.m. at the church. Activities featured will be a rock climbing wall and moon walk, games, contemporary and gospel music, hay ride, barbecue and chili cookoff. A DJ from J93.3's Christian radio station will be on hand.
