Alzheimer's benefit is this weekend

Stephen Ministers of the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City are getting ready for the Alzheimer Association's 2001 Southern Crescent Memory Walk this Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater on McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City. They will be joined by Stephen Ministers from Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, and Providence United Methodist Church and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville.

Registration is from 8-9:30 a.m. Runners start at 9:15 a.m. and walkers at 9:30 a.m.

Money raised from the event will go for research, personalized counseling, financial assistance, support groups and educational programs for those coping with Alzheimer's.

Cochairs for the Memory Walk are Fred Brown and Iola Snow. Free hamburgers and chips will be provided by Kiwanis Club members and a coffee/refreshment table will be set up.

Live music will be provided by the Peachtree Jazz Editions.
