Lady Tigers and chiefs win games and set up big match for Thursday By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
Last week was an interesting week in Region 4-AAAAA softball. McIntosh faced and defeated Lovejoy, while Fayette County beat East Coweta and Newnan. In the Lady Chiefs 5-2 win over Lovejoy, Megan Mulcahy had three hits and two RBIs, while sophomore Jenna Gilbert struck out two Lovejoy batters and was the winning pitcher. Fayette County faced Newnan last Wednesday and won, 11-0. Paige Phillips had four RBIs, while Ashley Logan and Megan Nichols each drowe in a run. The Lady Tigers were not as impressive in their 2-1 win over East Coweta. They were held to six hits by Lady Indians pitching. Yesterday, Fayette County took on Riverdale and tomorrow they will play host to McIntosh at McCurry Park at 6 p.m. |
