Fayette County improved to 11-1 on the season with wins last week over Starr's Mill and Lovejoy.

The Tigers defeated Starr's Mill 5-2 last Thursday by getting lots of offense from Bonnie Bynum, who produced three RBI. Megan Nichols and Ashley Logan drove in one run apiece.

Last Tuesday Fayette County defeated Lovejoy 10-0, as Bynum pitched a one-hitter and struck out 13 batters. The previous Thursday saw Bynum throw a two-hitter against North Clayton, striking out 20.

In the win over Lovejoy, Stefanie Norman and Katie Gaspierik drove in two runs apiece, while Ashley Holcombe and Allison Stubbs each went 2-for-3 from the plate. Holcombe drove in a run, while Stubbs hit two doubles.

In the 11-0 win over North Clayton, Logan scored two runs, while Becky Carder stole three bases and drove in two runs.

Thursday night, the McIntosh Lady Chiefs overpowered North Clayton with an impressive 16-0 score in 3 innings for the win. Sophomore Lily Yarbrough was on the mound throwing a no-hitter to senior catcher Megan Mulcahy. Yarbrough faced 10 batters, striking out four.

The highlight of the game came in the first inning when Mulcahy hit a grand slam to bring in Alison Zelinski, Renae Clarke, and Kim Jenkins. The first four batters of the Chiefs lineup were on the scoreboard at 4-0 with Mulchay's home run. Batting 1.000 for the game were Zelinski, Clarke, Jenkins, Mulcahy, Yarbrough, Cochran, and Kleimeyer. There were a total of 15 hits for the Lady Chiefs. They now have a 4-2 record.

McIntosh faces Lovejoy today and Starr's Mill tomorrow at Meade Field at 6 p.m.
