Peachtree Christian Fellowship moves to new facility

Peachtree Christian Fellowship is now up and running in its new 1,300 sq. ft. facility on Ebenezer Church Rd. Members have been meeting at Ebenezer United Methodist Church for the past few months while awaiting the completion of the new building.

"Now, for the first time, members will have a permanent home," a spokesperson said. "And that is what they plan to make it. An important part of the vision at Peachtree Christian Fellowship is to express the person of Jesus through the lives of the families represented in its congregation. Those involved in the work hope to be a blessing to those in the community by offering encouragement in practical ways."

Sunday school for children, teens and adults will begin this Sunday, Sept. 9, at 9 a.m., with worship service following at 10. Children's church will take place during the adult service.

Small groups will continue to meet in various homes weekly.

"These meetings have always been at the center of what the church is about," the spokesperson said. "Bible study, worship and sharing lives in a personal way makes the concept of membership in the body of Christ more than a theory."

The youth group at the church has been consistently growing, adding new members through baptism on a regular basis.

"Brian Sorrow will build on the strong foundation he has established over the past five years in reaching young people for Christ," the spokesperson continued. "Many teens that have seldom, if ever, attended church are drawn in by the Holy Spirit and the welcoming acceptance of Steve and Lindy Hale. These two have opened their home to oversee the work that Brian and his friends are doing."

Beginning Sept. 25, classes taught by nationally known personalities will be offered. David and Lyda Miller will facilitate a popular class taught via videotape by Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo on "Growing Kids God's Way." The Millers, successful parents of three, have invested more than 20 years in leading young people of all ages.

Another popular video series to be offered is Beth Moore's, "Jesus the One and Only." Vicky Mitchell who has served as a pastor's wife and has spent many years as a teacher of women, will facilitate this class.

Other classes are planned for this fall as well.

Classes will be offered at the church each Tuesday night from 7-9 p.m. A nursery will be provided.

For more information on the classes, call the church office, 770-631-2811.
