Show for deer hunters this weekend
Sportsmen and sportswomen should mark their calendars now for this weekend's South Atlanta Deer Hunters Spectacular. The event will take place at the Showcase Event Centre in McDonough, Ga. July 20-22. There will be deals on hunting and fishing equipment, door prizes given away every hour on the hour and many special guests and demonstrations. Hunting legends Dan and Guy Fitzgerald will be on hand, as will former Cincinnati Red Ray Knight. Snake master Steve Scruggs will show off live rattlesnakes, taxidermist Dan Dominick will offer a seminar about proper field care for trophy taxidermy and wildlife biologist Brian Murphy will offer seminars on deer hunting. Also at the South Atlanta Deer Hunter's Spectacular will be the West Virginia Monster Truck. Admission is $5; free for kids under 12. Additional raffle tickets will be sold inside for $1 each. The sale of the raffle tickets will benefit children in need of serious medical attention and a portion of the proceeds will also go to Ducks Unlimited. The show will be open from 3-9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The Showcase Event Centre is off I-75 at exit 221.
