The races will take place Saturday, Oct. 13 along the paved golf cart paths of Peachtree City. Registration has begun for this event, which is actually three separate races, and will continue until race limits are met.

The 15K Open race (9.3 miles) begins at 9:10 a.m. and is limited to the first 1,500 applicants. The race course has been consistently rated among the best race course in the Southeast. The Road Runners Club of America has named this race its RRCA 15K Championship event for 2001.

A men's 5K (3.1 miles) race will begin at 9 a.m. and a women's 5K will begin at 8:50 a.m. Each 5K race will be run on a separate course throughout the paths of Peachtree City. Each of these races is limited to 800 applicants.

Every finisher receives the traditional Classic sweat shirt and all entrants will be eligible to win two $500 vouchers good toward the purchase of airline tickets to any selected domestic destination on Northwest/KLM Airlines. There will also be random drawings for assorted prizes but participants must be present to win. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers overall and masters and the first three male and female finishers in each of the 14 age groups.

The weekend kicks off with an expo Friday, Oct. 12 at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center. The expo is open to the public and many running and fitness vendors will be on hand.
