Scottish band and choir to give local performance The Fayette community will have an opportunity to hear the most talented musicians and singers from Scotland perform during a special concert at Sams Auditorium. The East Ayrshire Brass Band and Choir, an all-star group from the East Ayrshire School District in Scotland, will perform Friday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. Audiences will be entertained by a mix of both classical and Irish music. The Scottish Arts Council formed the band and choir in 1997. Students from all secondary schools in East Ayrshire are given the opportunity to be involved in the groups. Ayrshire schools are known throughout Scotland as having a strong music program and for producing gifted musicians. Tickets are $5 for all seats and can be purchased in advance at the LaFayette Educational Center in Fayetteville or the Omega Bookstore in Peachtree City. Tickets also will be sold at the door. This will be the first time the East Ayrshire band and choir have performed in Fayette. For information phone the Community School at 770-460-3990, extension 136.
