The inclement weather over the past few weeks has put a damper on some of the racing action at Atlanta Motor Speedway for its Thursday Thunder racing series.

Several of the races were made up last Thursday, though, and racers from this region made their mark.

In the two Young Lions races, Fayetteville's Doug Ludwig placed first in one race and 10th in the other. Tyrone's Michael Herrington placed eighth in both of the Semi-Pro B races, while Fayetteville's Mike Sims placed fifth in one race and 12th in the other. Newnan's Brandon McElroy placed second and fifth in the two Semi-Pro A races, while Senoia's Bubba Pollard placed sixth and 11th.

In the two Pro Division races, Reed Sorenson from Peachtree City placed first and second. The Young Guns Division had to make up three races and Peachtree City's Trey Maughan placed seventh, ninth and 10th.

Don't miss next week's Thursday Thunder, 96 Rock Racing Rampage Night. 96 Rock disc jockeys English Nick and Southside Steve will battle it out in the 96 Rockin' Race at intermission.

Admission for adults is $5, children 6-11 are $1, and children 5 and under are free. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and the racing action starts immediately. Phone 770-946-4211.
