PTC Planning Commission will consider four rezoning requests By JOHN
MUNFORD
In addition to usual business scheduled for the regular meeting Monday night, the Peachtree City Planning Commission will hold four public hearings for rezoning requests. Two of the requests are for small residential tracts while the other two seek commercial and office-institutional zonings. The office-institutional rezoning is sought for a three-acre tract east of Ga. Highway 74 north between the southern entrance of Kedron Drive and McWilliams Drive. Currently, the land is zoned agriculture-reserve. The commercial rezoning regards the P.K.Wright Galleries tract in the Whitlock Place subdivision, which is currently zoned Limited Use Commercial. The owners are asking it be rezoned General Commercial. One of the residential rezonings is sought to subdivide a 3.82-acre property in the Shakerag Plantation Subdivision. The owners of 108 Carriage Lane want the zoning changed from estate-residential to limited use residential so it can be divided into two lots. One of the lots would be 2 acres with the existing house and the other would be 1.82 acres for construction of a new home. The other residential rezoning is for a 4.56-acre tract on Astoria Lane adjacent to Line Creek. The current zoning is R-43 residential, while Hyland Developers Inc. is seeking a rezoning to R-22 residential, which calls for smaller lot sizes.
