Three juveniles have been arrested for arson after setting a small fire in a vacant house in Peachtree City early Friday evening.

According to a report from the Peachtree City Police Department, a citizen complained about the juveniles being inside the home on Hickory Drive around 6 p.m. and an officer was sent to investigate.

When the officer got there, the fire had already started, the report said.

The fire damage was contained to a part of one room in the home, said Peachtree City Fire Chief Stony Lohr. Firefighters responded to the scene but the fire had already been extinguished upon their arrival, Lohr said.

"It didn't cause any significant amount of damage, but it had the potential to," Lohr said.

A fire investigator was sent to the scene to collect evidence and process the scene so the arson charges can be pursued in juvenile court, Lohr added.

The incident is still under investigation, Lohr added.
