Technology conference is set for late June As a leading provider in transportation pricing, data and technology, Peachtree City's SMC3 has announced the dates and location of its 46th annual summer meeting. The meeting, entitled Generations At Work: How to Foster Harmony and Productivity Among the Boomers, Xers and Nexters, will be at the Wyndham Palace Resort in Orlando, Fla., June 20-22. The focus of this summer meeting is how managers can bridge the gap between younger workers and the seasoned work force. "There is no doubt that leading and managing employees has changed over the last 20 years," said Jack Middleton, president and CEO of SMC3. "Today's young work force seems to be on a different wavelength than the boomers more so than ever before. As a leader, you need to stay on top of these changing views as they unfold within your own organization. "We've designed this symposium to arm attendees with the right tools to align their organizations with action leaders and leadership teams," added Middleton. In addition to professional development seminars, the symposium will address personal relationship skills as well as trends in the logistics and legislative marketplace. Other items include a spotlight on application service providers and how SMC3 plans to roll-out ASP services to the industry; a bill of lading forum, and the annual General Rate Committee meeting. Featured speakers will include such prominent leaders as Richmond Fourmy, senior career management consultant for Right Management Consultants; Sherry Shaver, career consultant for Right Management Consultants; Dr. Les Parrot, a professor of clinical psychology at Seattle Pacific University, and John Bagileo, principal at the law firm of John R. Bagileo. In addition, Robert Delaney, vice president for Cass Information Systems, will deliver his analysis of the U.S. logistics industry and its impact on the motor carrier marketplace.
