Local women win in Hilde Fox tennis tournament By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
For the fifth year in a row, friends and teammates of the late Hilde Fox hosted the Hilde Fox Memorial Tennis Tournament at the South Fulton Tennis Complex. The event benefits the Clayton College and State University Athletics Associates, Inc. This year the tournament drew over 70 women for the evnt and raised $3,500 for the CCSU Lady Laker tennis program. "This was our fifth one, and it keeps getting bigger each year," said tournament organizer and Athletic Association, Inc. member Elzabeth Barfield. "Hilde was a great supporter of Clayton State tennis, and this is a wonderful way to remember her." The tournament was broken up into several divisions. Kathy Wood of Fairburn and Kim Detwiler of Peachtree City defeated Laurie Taylor of McDonough and Julie taylor of Jonesboro in the "A" finals, while Debie Darnowski and Chirs Fogg of Peachtree City beat Pam Wallace and Denise Gordy of Newnan in the "B" finals.
