Big year planned for FCFT

Fayette-Coweta Family Theatre, Inc. has a full plate. They will have auditions, workshops, dinner theatre, and an amazing lineup in the coming months.

FCFT's most popular workshop will be offered on Tuesday, June 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. at LaFayette Educational Center in Fayetteville. This workshop is for ages 8 to 14 years and will explore all the areas of auditioning. A wonderful way to prepare for the upcoming "Hansel and Gretel" auditions on July 2 and 3. The class is already half full-- so register early. Fee is $35.00. To register call 770-599-0051.

FCFT is scheduled to hold auditions for their upcoming Family Musical Production "The Story of Hansel and Gretel" on Monday, July 2 with call backs on Tuesday, July 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. All ages from 7 years to adults are needed for this full-scale, fairytale musical.

Ages 7 to 10 years arrive at 4:15---Ages 11 to 14 years arrive at 6:00 p.m. and ages 15 years through adults arrive at 7:30 p.m. Auditions will be held at LaFayette Educational Center in Fayetteville. A cast of 35 performers are needed.

Auditions will consist of a simple dance and song and cold readings from the script. All audition materials will be supplied for you at time of audition.

FCFT is also excited about presenting their first ever Dinner Theatre Production. This family friendly afternoon or evening of entertainment and feasting will transport audience members to the golden throne room of the greedy King Midas, as they dine like royalty from a magnificent buffet.

Three performances will be offered on Saturday, July 28 at Huddleston Elementary School Cafeteria/Stage. Show/Buffets will be at 12 noon, 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Buffet will include tasty penna pasta with your choice of red/meat or white sauce, salad, vegetable, bread, drink and a yummy dessert. The 40-minute show that follows will be presented by "A Company of Friends" and is an interactive delight for audiences three years and up.

Ticket prices are $12 for adults who are 15 years or older and $10 for children and seniors. Reservations are a must and space is limited. Make your reservation today by calling 770-251-7611.

They will open next year with an "A Company of Friends" presentation of "The Jungle Book" in September. This show will have several weekday performances so local schools can attend. If you would like more information on school performances please contact FCFT at 770-599-0051.

Next will be the touching original holiday delight "A Christmas Carol" in November and December. Performers from 8 years to adults are needed to bring this yuletide favorite to the stage. This is definitely a show for the entire family.

The February offering is a very exciting one. They will present their first ever Broadway Musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Joseph and the Amazing Techincolor Dreamcoat." This show will be a challenging undertaking and requires a large cast of adults and teens, plus a big children's chorus. Ages 6 to adults will be cast in this production that promises to be fabulous. Don't miss out at being a part of FCFT history making.

Next will be the "A Company of Friends" presentation of "Rumpelstiltskin" in April. Followed by the Storybook Series Musical "Winnie-The-Pooh" in June. "Pooh" will cast performers from 8 through 18 years. They will end their 2001-2002 season with a bang as we present the enchanting Family Musical "Beauty and the Beast" in August. All ages from 9 years through adults are needed for this magical story.
