Peachtree City UMC plans 'Soncreek Junction' VBS

Peachtree City United Methodist Church will have Vacation Bible School Monday, June 18 through Friday, June 22, from 9 a.m. until noon. This year's theme is "Soncreek Junction," and children ages four years through fifth grade are invited to attend.

"This year's Vacation Bible School promises to be an adventure your children will never forget," said Janis Shafer, director of children's education at Peachtree City UMC. "'Soncreek Junction' is a western gold-mining town set in the 1800s. Here, your children will have a rip-roaring good time singing lively songs, watching humorous skits, creating western crafts, and playing active games. But, most importantly, they will discover five golden nuggets of truth for growing as God's children. They will learn to 'start up,' 'listen up,' 'open up,' 'look up,' and 'speak up' in the family of God."

Everything will draw to a conclusion at the closing musical program on Friday, June 22, at 6:30 p.m., followed by a potluck picnic supper for the whole family.

"We are looking forward to this very special opportunity to share with the children and the parents in our neighborhood," Shafer added. "We hope they will join us at Soncreek Junction as we discover the adventure of living and growing in God's family."

Peachtree City UMC is at the intersection of Peachtree Pkwy. and Windgate Rd. in Peachtree City. To register or for more information, call the church at 770-487-6433.
