Hallberg to perform at SPRY meeting for seniors June 5

John Hallberg of Peachtree City will provide the entertainment for the monthly meeting of Senior Presbyterians Remaining Young (SPRY) at the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City Tuesday, June 5, at 11:30 a.m.

Hallberg will perform musical selections on the harmonica in a program called "Harmonica 101." He will be accompanied by Brownie Jones on the piano for the final number.

Born in England, Hallberg received an engineering degree at age 18 and was a member of the Grenadier Guards, a division of the Buckingham Palace Guards. He was brought to America by Ford Motor Company to help design race cars. He has written articles in several magazines including "Road and Track" and "Science Mechanics."

He came to Peachtree City in 1974 and was the owner of Alternate Energy Systems until 1988 when he sold the company and retired. He now helps his wife, Katie, with her antique business in Fayetteville.

The SPRY meeting will be in the fellowship hall of the church at 206 Willowbend Rd. in Peachtree City. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a covered dish to share. No reservations are necessary.
