Hoshizaki donates flag to Rising Starr
The gym at Rising Starr Middle School now has a sparkling new United States flag thanks to the generosity of Hoshizaki of Peachtree City. When the company heard that the school was looking for contributions for the flag, it immediately offered to help by making the purchase. Eighth grader Shelley MacBean and her father, Jim, who happens to work for Hoshizaki, were instrumental in getting the donation. When MacBean told her father about the school needing monetary contributions for the flag, he approached his company for help. "We are very grateful to Hoshizaki for the purchase of this flag. I am thankful to the company for its generosity and support of our school," said Principal Barbara Bakelaar. Students at Rising Starr wanted a flag displayed in the gym so that they could say the Pledge of Allegiance before the start of the school's basketball games. John Gronner, human resources manager at Hoshizaki, recently made the official presentation of the flag to Bakelaar and MacBean in the atrium of the school. |
