Junior tournament to be held at Tennis Center

The Peachtree City Tennis Center will present the 2001 Peach State Junior Tennis Classic this weekend, running through Monday.

The Peach State is the most prestigious junior tennis event in Georgia. It includes 4 age divisions in both girls and boys (12, 14, 16, 18) and is a great venue for college coaches to scout up and coming players.

Thirteen USTA sections are represented from Southern California to New England and the tournament is on the USTA schedule. The top USTA junior players will be in the main draw and the higher ups will have the top seeds secured. There will also be a qualifying tournament today, beginning at 8 a.m. Many local players and high school standouts should participate in the action this weekend, as each school has some members in the top of the USTA regional rankings.
