Opening Today

Pearl Harbor A love triangle between two men in the armed forces and a nurse, set against the backdrop of World War II and the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The film cost $135 million and stars Jon Voight, Cuba Gooding Jr., Ben Affleck, Alec Baldwin and more. Rated PG-13.

Now Playing

A Knight's Tale This was a very enjoyable movie. It had action, comedy, drama and Geoffery Chauceer naked. This film was very effective in its combination of modern sports themes and the medieval code of honor. The all classic rock sound track was also great and did not diminish the film in the least. Enjoy. Rated PG-13.

Along Came A Spider No, this has nothing to do with muffets or tuffets. Morgan Freeman reprises his role from the thriller Kiss The Girls and is out to catch a killer. Do you like this type of movie? Guess we know where you will be this weekend. Rated R.

Angel Eyes Jennifer Lopez plays a cop in Chicago who meets a mystery man and falls in love. This looks very Sixth Sense-ish and got decent reviews. Rated R.

Bridget Jones Diary Rene Zellweger stars as Bridget Jones, a British lady who has her share of problems in love as well as in the work place. This film was really funny and aimed at the adults. Zellweger impresses me more and more each film and Hugh Grant was terrific as her sleazy boss. Rated R.

Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles Why couldn't they have made a movie with Steve, The Crocodile Hunter. He's far more entertaining and he's the Australian America loves right now. Paul Hogan lost me with that Almost An Angel movie and those Subaru ads. Rated PG.

Driven This looks like Rocky on wheels. The question is: Is this Rocky I on wheels or Rocky V? The racing sequences look incredible and Stallone's last few movies haven't been as bad as Schwarzenegger's last few movies. I hope this is good. Rated PG-13.

Kingdom Come A comedy starring LL Cool J and Whoopi Goldberg. This is based on the play "Dearly Departed" that recently came to Fayette County, which was really funny. Rated PG.

Shrek The voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow are featured in this computer-generated, surefire hit. I found it lacking a little, though I can't place my finger on exactly what was missing. There were very funny parts and Eddie Murphy was terrific, but they didn't carry some jokes far enough and others were carried too far. The kids will love it and don't let this review stop them. Rated PG.

Spy Kids Yes! This movie is awesome. Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino are great as international spies/parents, while Alan Cumming, Tony Shalhoub and Teri Hatcher are amazing as the bad guys. The kids steal the show though, as their portrayals of sparring siblings is both touching and hilarious. Rated PG.

The Mummy Returns Set ten years after the original, Rick (Brendan Fraser) and his girl, Evelyn, are living in London and raising a son. Imhotep, the mummy, comes to a British Museum and starts raising cain. Meanwhile, the Scorpion King, (The Rock) rises from his grave and battles with Imhotep. Rated PG-13.

Also Playing

Cast Away Tom Hanks stars as a man obsessed with time. That is, until his plane crashes and leaves him on a deserted island for four years. This is an amazing film and Hanks is awesome. Rated PG-13.

Exit Wounds Steven Seagal and DMX star in this action picture about corrupt cops in the inner city. If you like to see and hear bones breaking in a variety of ways, this would be the movie for you. Rated R.

Freddy Got Fingered This was a terrible movie, but it is hard for me to say it is not worth a dollar. If you like Tom Green, there will be scenes that you will like. However, no matter how much you enjoy his humor you will also be disgusted and confused at several times during the film. Rated R.

Hannibal Anthony Hopkins reprises his role as Hannibal the Cannibal in this sequel to "The Silence of the Lambs." It is not as Oscar worthy as it's predecessor, but it is well acted and directed and is an intense thriller. Rated R.

Josie and the Pussycats Loosely based on the cartoon, but missing several integral characters form the animated series, the film follows three girls pursuing their rock 'n' roll dreams. This got mediocre reviews and did fair at the box office. Rated PG-13.

Miss Congeniality Sandra Bullock stars as an FBI agent who goes undercover to catch a crook at a beauty pageant. I do not enjoy these types of movies, but several females have told me they thoroughly enjoyed this. Rated PG-13.

Pokemon 3 Another Pokemon movie. Hooray. Actually, I hear this one is the best one yet. It has an actual plot and better animation than what the t.v. series offers. Rated G.

Recess: School's Out Another afternoon cartoon hits the big screen. This film follows the gang in their travails during the summer vacation. It looks like it has enjoyable humor for the whole family. Rated G.

Save The Last Dance A film about a girl who moves to an inner cty school and follows her dream of dancing. This got decent reviews and did very well at the box office. If you're into this type of film, go for it. Rated PG-13.

See Spot Run David Arquette stars in this gross comedy for the kids. He plays a goofy mailman that adopts a former FBI dog that is in the witness protection program. Think Home Alone with a dog. Rated PG.

Someone Like You I do not think there is a reason to see this movie. It has a good cast and the previews look funny, but it is basically the story of Sex and the City. The film follows Ashley Judd's character after she gets dumped and examines the relationship between women and men. Sex and the City returns to HBO soon. Wait for it. Rated R.

Traffic An excellent film about the drug war and all the fronts that it is fought on. The performances by the all-star cast are terrific and the film is deftly directed by Stephen Soderbergh. This will prompt many conversations in your home. Rated R.

What Women Want Mel Gibson gains a power where he can read women's minds. One thing he knows is that they all want to see this movie. Rated PG-13.
