Students get a taste of Hawaii Third-grade students at Peachtree City Elementary School recently took a trip to Hawaii where they enjoyed customary food, dance and arts and crafts. The one-day immersion trip concluded a weeklong study of Hawaiian culture and history. Students embarked on their trip in the media center where they boarded an imaginary airplane flown by parent and Delta pilot Jeff Hansen. After arriving in Hawaii, students toured various islands and were exposed to different activities. Each classroom represented an island where students learned how to limbo, make Hawaiian themed arts and crafts and enjoyed traditional snacks of fresh pineapple and roasted pig (hotdogs). Afterwards, all of the students gathered in the cafeteria for a Hawaiian luau.
