Teenage vandals making life miserable

Who is responsible?

A group of "fine young teenage" vandals are destroying property in our neighborhoods. Is this the way they have been raised, and what is the parental responsibility? You tell me.

I don't know what the answers are, but I will tell you what happened to us and to our neighbors on Mother's Day evening. Our bird feeder was stolen plus all the cages and netting for our tomatoes which my husband has worked so hard to grow. Many of the new small tomatoes were thrown on neighbor's terrace.

We called the police; they arrived promptly, took all the information about our unfortunate experience and informed us about our neighbor whose pool was trashed the same evening. They had also reported this to the police.

Since we are friendly with our neighbors, my husband called the family with the pool and when he told them about the bird feeder her reply was, "Oh, we have your birdfeeder." Needless to say, we did have a chuckle on that one.

Isn't it sad that parents do not know where their kids are and what they are doing?

We live in one of the many friendly neighborhoods where everyone is very meticulous about their property and to think we need police-patrolled protection is rather sickening.

Our home is near a restroom on the Flat Creek golf course that is constantly being trashed by uncontrolled teenagers. I advise all citizens to report anything unusual to our excellent police department. I just wanted to vent my frustration as a citizen of Peachtree City.

What are we to do?
