The all Area team for 4-AAAAA was annoounced late last week and the three fayetteCounty teams in 4-AAAAA are well-represented.

The team was voted on by the coaches of Area 4-AAAAA. Each coach was asked to nominate up to five players from his own team for consideration by all coaches. Each coach then selected up to 11 players, naming an offensive and defensive MVP from the total list of nominations. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players in the final voting; their nominations were their votes for each of their own players. Each player, including honorable mention, received votes from over 25 percent of the area coaches.

The five players from McIntosh are Megan Bernard in goal, Melanie Schneider on defense, Keri Pendergrass and Tabitha Lowey in midfield and Julie Herdic as a forward. Herdic and Schnieder were also named Most Valuable Attacking and Defending players respectively.

Starr's Mill's representatives were Susan O'Brien on defense and Allison Graham in midfield, while Newnan's representatives were Lauren Clifton on defense and Amanda Morton as a forward. East Coweta's Meghan Gould made the team for midfield, while Jonesboro's Sarah Kolber made the team for defense.

Those receiving honorable mentions were Fayette County goalkeeper Cassie Coggins and Fayette County defender Britni Emerson, defender Lindsey Wegryzyn and forward Alice Martin from Starr's Mill and forward Christa Harrison from East Coweta.
