Fayette County Gathers For Prayer

Residents from throughout Fayette County gathered in Fayetteville Thursday, May 3, to pray for their county, state and national leadership as a part of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer.

The day began with a youth rally at the Heritage Park fountain in Fayetteville as several hundred students came together to eat breakfast, worship and pray. At 8 a.m. many business and spiritual leaders met for breakfast at Grace Evangelical Church in Fayetteville to pray for county officials in attendance.

The evening culminated as families gathered on the lawn of Fayetteville First Baptist Church in downtown Fayetteville to enjoy a picnic dinner and pray corporately for the Fayette area.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual event that occurs on the first Thursday in May.
