Hooters in Fayetteville: Should be just another dining choice

I am 34 years old and have lived in Fayette County all of my life. I remember the good days when the traffic coming through downtown was slow compared to what it is today and the only place to go eat was the Dairy Queen on Friday nights after a ballgame.

I am sure all of us who lived here during that time wish we could go back to those days, which we all consider now as the good ol' days, but being as things are going to change everyday as time moves on, all my friends and family who live here are finally glad to see that we are getting restaurants in Fayette County that are more than just fast food places. We are glad not to have to drive to Peachtree City or Morrow just so we can have a good dinner.

I am glad to see Hooters has bought the old Shoney's building and is going to be remodeling it. I know there are people opposed to Hooters being in Fayetteville and that is their choice, but that shouldn't keep it from happening when the majority of people want it or don't care either way.

I have eaten at several different Hooters and their food is always great. It should be another choice that we as citizens can make on Friday or Saturday night when we make dinner plans.
