Opening Friday

Along Came A Spider No, this has nothing to do with muffets or tuffets. Morgan Freeman reprises his role from the thriller Kiss The Girls and is out to catch a killer. Do you like this type of movie? Guess we know where you will be this weekend.

Blow This film about the people behind the cocaine boom in the 1970s is getting the type of critical acclaim that Traffic received. Johnny Depp is the star, but the cast also includes Penelope Cruz, Ray Liotta and Paul Reubens. It looks interesting. Rated R.

Just Visiting Jean Reno stars as a 12th century warrior who gets transported to the 21st century with his idiotic assistant. I don't know about you, but I love these silly time travel movies. Bill and Ted looked kind of weird and that movie is a classic. Rated PG-13.

Pokemon 3 I haven't even seen a preview or a commercial for this, but the Web site I visit promises me this is coming out this Friday. I thought the Pokemon craze was over. I watched a few episodes and enjoyed them, saw the first film and hated it, and yawned with the rest of America when the sequel came out. Why is there a sequel to the sequel? Let me tell you how this will end so we can be spared from Pokemon 4: Send Your Parents' Money. Ash and his friends will save the day, after it looks like they are completely doomed. Along the way, they will learn lessons about sharing, being nice and not judging a book by its cover. In fact, every episode of Pokemon is about that. Rated G.

Now Playing

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon This is one of the best films of the year. It has action, romance, comedy and drama. Though it is in Mandarin with English subtitles, you will be swept away by the film and forget that you are reading. Rated PG-13.

Down To Earth Chris Rock stars as a comedian who dies before his time and returns to Earth in the body of a rich, old, white man. This is a remake of Heaven Can Wait and could be quite good. Rated PG-13.

Enemy At The Gates Jude Law plays a Russian sniper who must battle a German sniper and a love triangle during World War II. Rated R.

Exit Wounds Steven Seagal returns to the world of the movie theatre with this tale of a cop battling corrupt cops in the inner city. DMX, Tom Arnold and Jill Hennesy also star. Rated R.

Get Over It This is yet another teen comedy and this one looks to be the worst one yet. The plot is about a guy dating his friend's sister and getting shot with an arrow. Yuk. One more thing, who decided Sisqo was a star? Rated PG-13.

Hannibal A superb film, both well acted and well directed. Anthony Hopkins is brilliant as the creepy Dr. Lecter and Julianne Moore is great replacing Jody Foster as Agent Starling. This has some gory parts but is still a satisfying thriller. Rated R.

Heartbreakers Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt play a mother and daughter con team in Florida. Gene Hackman, Ray Liotta and Jason Lee also star. Rated PG-13.

O Brother Where Art Thou This film, written and directed by The Coen Brothers (Fargo) is set in the Depression Era south. It is humorous and beautifully directed but the film goes nowhere and none of the characters change. Rated PG-13.

Say It Isn't So This film, produced by the Farrelly brothers, deals with a man in love with a woman. Someone mistakenly tells him that she is his sister and by the time he finds out this is false, she is about to marry someone else. This looks amusing and Chris Klein, the protagonist is a very likable male lead. Rated R.

See Spot Run David Arquette plays a goofy postal worker who accidentally adopts a former FBI dog that is in the witness protection program. Rated PG.

Someone Like You Ashley Judd's character gets dumped, so she moves in with a male coworker and starts writing a column about men and women. It sounds like Sex and the City: The movie, but rated PG-13 and without Sarah Jessica Parker. Rated PG-13.

Spy Kids Yes! Robert Rodriguez directed this film about kids who must save their secret agent parents. All the buzz has been good and the cast (Antonio Banderas, Alan Cumming, Tony Shalhoub) is great. Rodriguez hasn't made a bad movie and you can bet this will be entertaining at the very least. Rated PG.

The Brothers Three affluent black men must think about their ways when a friend, a reformed playboy, is getting married. Rated R.

The Mexican Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts star in this action-comedy about a stolen gun and love on the run. Sounds like fun. Rated R.

Tomcats Sex comedies are back in again or so they would have you believe. This film deals with seven friends who wagered that they would be the last to be married. There are two left and the pot has been wisely invested. Now, the two men (I use the word loosely) try to win the money by getting the other one hitched. Rated R.

Traffic This film, directed by Steven Soderbergh, was very well done. It has a great cast, including a stellar performance from Benicio Del Toro, and tip top direction. This movie is a sure fire conversation starter. Rated R.
