Sandy Creek grad Holloway drafted by New England

Jabari Holloway, a graduate from Sandy Creek High School and a senior at Notre Dame, was drafted by the New England Patriots of the National Football League over the weekend.

The tight end was chosen in the fourth round with the 119th pick overall. The Patriots will come to town Nov. 4 to take on the Atlanta Falcons.

Mark Fields, another graduate of Sandy Creek High School, helped the Georgia Perimeter baseball team sweep Gordon College recently.

In the first game, Fields pitched eight innings and struck out 11 batters. In the second game he drove in 12 runs on six hits, including four home runs.

He has a .380 batting average this season and is ranked seventh in the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association. On the mound, he is 4-2 with a 2.47 earned run average. he has 51 strikeouts.

The team is 10-8 in the conference and is 22-18 overall. They are currently in fourth place.
