Fayette County High School's Amy Eller had a lot to celebrate Friday.

She signed her letter of intent to play soccer for Wingate University, coached by former Fayette County High School girls coach Andy Thompson, and went out and scored one goal with two assists in the Lady Tigers' win over Stockbridge, which qualified them for the state tournament.

Eller will most likely play outside back for the Lady Bulldogs. She has not decided on a major.

She will be joining former Lady Tiger Faith Joslin on the field next year, as well as McIntosh's Lauren Kopec and Keri Pendergrass, who have also recently signed to play for the school.

Eller has played varsity for all four years of her career at Fayette County High School. She was named Defensive Most Valuable Player in her freshman and sophomore years and was also named All-County as a freshman.

In her junior year, she was awarded the Tiger Award and this year she was the inaugural recipient of the Gatorade "Will To Win" Award for the Lady Tigers. Her most cherished memory of her years with the Lady Tigers will be the bus rides to and from games.

Eller also credits her Lightning coach, Jeremy Davidson, with helping her develop her skills over the years.
