Fayette Young Life group plans yard sale April 21 Young Life of Fayette County will have a Spring Cleaning Yard Sale at First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City, Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Proceeds from the fund raising event will be used for Young Life's programs locally and to assist Fayette County middle and high school students raise money to experience one of Young Life's 18 national camps this summer. Middle school students will go to Southwind, a high adventure camp located in Ocklawaha, Florida June 24-28, and high school students will go to Frontier Ranch, Young Life's premier camp located in Buena Vista, Colorado June 9-18. The sale will feature many items to choose from from clothing to furniture. "We're excited about this yard sale event because it represents a chance for the community to show their commitment to the youth of our county," said Joel Nichols, director of Young Life of Fayette County. "Young Life here is part of a large, national youth ministry that reaches across denominations and helps young people directly at their level. We're funded locally and use local volunteers to help with youth activities, so local support of our event is especially vital to the ongoing success of the program." For more than 60 years, Young Life has been providing strong, positive influences in the lives of young people across the United States and other countruies around the world. Young Life provides healthy, creative fun from weekly clubs, seasonal camping experiences and daily outings with leaders. "Young Life's main goal is to touch young people across the globe with the message of Jesus Christ through the loving hard work of establishing close friendships with adult leaders," a spokesperson said.
