Delta retirees will suffer from a strike

I am a 61-year-old retired Delta station manager who is now a Methodist pastor. I worked for Delta from May 1959 to November 1993.

I remember how Delta personnel worked together through Eastern Airlines strikes, and how we were happy we did not have those problems. But let me give you a more personal touch to how myself and all other retirees may suffer as a result of a strike against Delta.

My retirement pay is supposed to be guaranteed already on deposit. But my insurance (health) is not.

I have had six heart attacks and am walking around because the Lord still has a use for me, and, because of good health insurance. This strike could literally result in the death of thousands if we lose the ability to get adequate treatment.

Real goal for any employee/person should be fair pay, fair benefits ("fair" is debatable). Test is not to hurt others who have far less.
