Rejoice, all ye Fayette Foodies!

Fayette foodies have two big reasons to rejoice.

The first occurred late last month when the Cost Plus World Market opened at the Fayette Pavilion.

As you enter the store, the feeling is like a Pier 1 or other stores that offer imported wooden tchotkes. But walk past all the knick-knacks to the back of the store and discover a small international food market.

While the store does not offer perishables such as meats and cheeses, it does offer several items not found in other places in the county.

Cocoa from Belgium, chocolate from Germany, olive oil from Italy and crackers from Great Britain are just a few of the items for a fine international gathering.

The store also offers an excellent choice of wine from around the world.

Foodies can also rejoice in a few months when Harry's in a Hurry opens at The Avenue shopping center in Peachtree City.

Harry's is always mentioned as a food mecca in Atlanta, and its selection of gourmet foods merits the good reviews.

While not as comprehensive as the Harry's markets in Alpharetta and Cobb County, Peachtree City's version will still offer wonderful bread, unique food items and lots of prepared dishes.

Some of the prepared dishes offered at other Harry's include wonderful pizzas and pastas, along with traditional meat and vegetable items.

It seems like Harry's will be a perfect match for the time-constrained Fayette and Coweta commuter. Instead of worrying about what's for supper as you're trying to navigate the treacherous Ga. Highway 74/54 intersection, just zip into Harry's and that problem is solved.

Along with Harry's, a sign at The Avenue indicates a Thai restaurant is on the way. Just another sign that Fayette's food tastes are starting to improve and getting a bit more sophisticated.
