More than 800 residents expected to walk this year to help save babies Hundreds of area residents are expected to take to the streets next week to help save babies. WalkAmerica, sponsored by the March of Dimes, takes place April 28 at the Peachtree City Recreation Department. More than 800 residents are expected to take part in the event with hopes of raising $109,000. Registration for WalkAmerica takes place at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. After the event is over, Publix Supermarkets is hosting a post-walk celebration picnic. Tracy Coker, executive coordinator of Fayette Community Hospital, will walk along with Fayette residents this year. WalkAmerica has been saving babies for more than 30 years.
